Prayer for Peace
There comes a time in one’s life, when the troubles and storms of life becomes tough and overwhelming. When all hope seems lost and everything looks upside down. When the things that should give you joy makes you want to cry. In a state such as this, it is natural for the human soul to lose its peace and grip over our emotions, because the human soul is designed to thrive in an atmosphere of peace and quietness.
If you find yourself in such situation, the best thing to do is to pray. Pray this prayer for peace.
Dear Lord I put my trust in you help thou my helplessness and let not my soul perish in the storms of life.
I lift up eyes to you O Lord, thou that helpeth the afflicted help thou me lest my soul drown in pit of sorrow.
Dear Lord comfort my heart with your peace and see me through this overwhelming siege rising against my soul.
My heavenly Father [lease speak peace to my life this day.
David is a very good scriptural example of a person who was living a perfect and peaceful life, he was a king and a warrior, it was recorded that he never lost any battle all his life. He was a great example of one who had a perfect life. But at a point in his life he was faced with lifes challenges, his understanding couldn’t interpret his reality, so he became cast down. He lost his inner peace. He lost the grip over his emotions he couldn’t control the turn of things in his life. So he lifted up his voice and committed his soul to God for restoration of peace and serenity.
Why art thou cast down, o my soul? And why art thou disquieted in me? Hope down in God, for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance. O my God, my soul is cast down within me: therefore will I remember thee from the land of Jordan, and of the Hermonites, from the hill Mizar. Psalms 42:5-6.
You could see from the above quoted scripture, that David the great king suffered a down turn in his life. His soul was cast down, encouragement wasn’t coming from anywhere. So he lifted up his voice God, who is able to calm all storms and still every contrary wind blowing against his children, to command restoration of peace and serenity to his life.
You too can pray in this manner if faced with such challenges. Just simply say to yourself.
My soul will hold on to God, for he is my strength and my peace.
My God will restore peace again to my soul, therefore will I wait for his salvation.
The prayer for peace is a prayer that almost every human will have to pray at some point in their life. Jesus had to pray it too at a point in his earthly ministry. He was aboard a boat with his disciples, in the bid to cross over to another side so as to fulfill ministry. And the storm of life began to rage, Jesus was fast asleep. His disciples had to scream out master we are perishing! Jesus rose up and quietly rebuked the wind. And the storm was calm. See Mark 4:35-39.

The scripture makes us understand that God is not the author of perplexity, he is not behind the storm raging around your life. He is the author of peace. If you will lift up you voice and cry to him for the restoration of your peace the Bible says he would ensure it by all means. 1Thessalonians 3:16.
